The ruling class has demonstrated time and time again that it has zero interest in resolving these fundamental issues. We have witnessed increased waves of students and workers organizing strikes, walkouts, and demonstrations to resist austerity. We saw this plain and clear at the University of Waterloo, where upwards of 1,000 students gathered to rally boldly against cuts to OSAP, a direct attack on the working people who increasingly cannot pay tuition. This demonstrated that when pushed to the limit, students and workers are prepared to fight back.\n\nResisting individual cuts is only the beginning. To achieve lasting change, we must escalate and organize the broader class struggle; not only to win defensive battles, but to fight for the overthrow of capitalism and the socialist transformation of society. This cannot happen spontaneously.
