SESSION 5 This week, we welcome Ethan Baron, a 2nd year PhD student in Computer Science at New York University. With bouldering emerging as a popular sport in the last few years, especially with its addition to the Olympics in 2021, Ethan will be delivering a talk about how we can measure the overall skill of professional climbers from a public database of results in professional bouldering competitions. He will cover key ideas in statistics and machine learning, including logistic regression and vector embedding. We look forward to seeing everyone! 🗓️ July 30, 2026 🕕 6:00PM - 7:30PM 📍M3 3103 // Livestream link in bio • • • • • • • • • • #bouldering #sportsanalytics #machinelearning #universityofwaterloo
