Executive Roles & What They Do (Summarized — please see the Constitution for full details and eligibility) President • Oversee WAGS & run meetings • Liaise with faculty, ESS, and student groups • Advocate for Geography students & monitor WAGS email Vice President • Lead meetings in the President’s absence • Support President & step in for extended absences Treasurer • Manage WAGS budget & financial records • Submit cheque requests & handle event expenses • Coordinate with ESS Secretary • Take minutes & attendance • Distribute meeting notes promptly Events Directors (up to 2) • Plan and organize WAGS events • Book spaces, submit WUSA forms, coordinate logistics • Work with Communications & Treasurer • Debrief events afterward Communications Director • Promote events (socials, posters, emails) • Run WAGS social media & update the lounge board • Coordinate with professors & advisors • Document events and engage with students online Academic Representative • Collect student feedback • Attend GEM department meetings & speak for undergrads • Give reports, represent student concerns, and share updates ESS Representative • Attend ESS meetings & secure funding • Promote WAGS events through ESS • Communicate ESS updates to WAGS WESEF Representative • Attend WESEF meetings & advocate for Geography students • Prepare proposals when needed GEM Representative • Must be a GEM student • Advocate for GEM interests & promote WAGS to GEM cohort Geomatics Representative • Must be a Geomatics student • Represent Geomatics concerns & help advertise events CEC Representative • Must be a CEC student • Voice CEC concerns & promote WAGS initiatives If you’re passionate about community, leadership, and shaping the Geography experience at Waterloo, this is your chance.
