In this hands-on workshop, participants will gain a foundational knowledge of policy processes, how academics can influence policy, and where to go in the Waterloo region to get started. We will look at policy examples (good and bad), will workshop our individual policy domains, and will discuss small, actionable takeaways that participants can implement immediately to better position themselves as policy consultants. Humanities graduate students, researchers, and faculty who are interested in learning how to bridge the gap between academic research and policy in Canada will benefit from this workshop.
